Summary: Follow-up in a group of 36 patients with a previous abdominal-pelvic operation and x-ray therapy (in 3 cases), submitted to TVT procedure is presented. All these women had severe stress incontinence.
The operation was performed in 46% of the cases under sedation and local anesthesia and in 54% of the cases under subarachnoid block and local saline infiltration. The mean follow-up was 15.2 months (range 4.4-42.2). Results: 88.8% patients cured, 8.5% improved and 2.7% failed.  Conclusions:there are not significant differences between success rate of TVT in primary treatment and secondary surgery also following x-ray therapy.
